The company is family owned, non-union, and headed by its Chairman and CEO Mack Dove. Mack’s father founded AAA Cooper Transport in 1955. The company’s fleet is made up of about 2,300 tractors and 6,000 trailers. Milestones In The History Of AAA Cooper Transportation Mr. Dove bought an interest in P.C. White Truck Lines in 1951. In 1955, Mr. Dove purchased all of the interest of P.C. White and changed the name to AAA Motor Lines Inc. On July 1, 1969, AAA Motor Lines Inc. assumed operating control of Cooper Transfer Company Inc. and changed their company name to ACT – AAA Cooper Transportation. In January 1989 Earl, one of Mr. Dove’s sons, sold his shares back to the company. This resulted in Mack the other son owning 100% of the stock, and becoming the President and Chief Executive Officer. In December 1986, AAA Cooper Transportation (ACT) expanded by purchasing Haynes Motor Lines. The first terminal outside of the Southeast was opened in 1994, in Chicago, Illinois. In 1997, the companies "Truck-to-Ship-to-Truck" service was added for the island of Puerto Rico. Since then, AAA Cooper Transportation has grown to be one of the leading LTL service providers in the United States and Puerto Rico. |
